Following sold out tours across Europe and North America, Amon Tobin'saudiovisual spectacle ISAM Live comes to Sydney Opera House - a landmark development in concert presentation. Taking projection mapping, electronic performance and technological syncopation into more immersive territory, Amon Tobin's reputation as an innovative artist has long been recognized by critics and peers alike; with ISAM Live, he has finally captured the imagination of the broader public worldwide.
Sydney Opera House, in partnership with Google, will stream two full matinee, back-to-back ISAM Live performances on a dedicated YouTube channel on Saturday, June 2nd starting at 9PM AEST (7AM NYC / Noon London).
The live stream series will premiere a custom camera application called FRONTROW, which will allow the audience to use pan and zoom features to change their view and take photos during the live stream, apply lens filters and immediately share with their friends through Twitter, Facebook and Google+.
Amon Tobin returns to Bloc with an all new presentation of his ISAM project, featuring a stunning 25′ x 14′ x 8′ multi-dimensional / shape shifting 3-D art installation surrounding Tobin and enveloping him and the audience in a beyond 3-D experience. One of the most visionary artists working in electronic music over the last fifteen years, Amon has established a reputation for musical ingenuity that is unconfined by genre, whether working with the classical avant garde Kronos Quartet, or D’n'B legends Noisia, or on his own in some invented form. A modernist in the best sense of the word, his audio-visual live show extravaganza pushes the boundaries of what a live show can really achieve, musically flitting from experimental electronics to resounding rhythmic power and beyond.

Over the last fifteen years, while other producers have come and gone, making a noise and grabbing headlines before failing to live up to or with the hype and fading away, Amon Tobin has calmly and quietly built a reputation as one of the pre-eminent electronic musicians of his generation. From his growing obsession with found sound, through his collaborations and work with everyone from the Kronos Quartet to Ryuchi Sakamoto to Philip Glass, on into his film score work and his innovative sound design for video games, Tobin has become a byword for quality and breath-taking originality. And with his live show for ISAM stunning audiences around the world (almost three million hits on YouTube and counting, plus a crowd that can include anyone from Brian Eno to Deadmaus, Keith Flint to Public Enemy, Trent Reznor to Muse), for the first time, his profile matches his many achievements. What better time, then, to release some kind of over-view of his work so far, less a career summary, than a dip into much of his work which has so far gone under the radar?

From the article: "And while I’m sure that in part the same is true for Amon Tobin, it at least appeared that in 2011 he was working on one complete project, a feat of joined up thinking where each piece was as important as the others."
